Two Welsh Melodies
TWO WELSH MELODIES
Arranged by Alonso Medio
These are both slow and gentle pieces, eminently suitable for the guitarist who wants to play something quiet and soothing. ‘Sleep, my Baby’ is, as its title implies, a simple cradle song, and should be played as such. ‘Watching the Wheat’ is another beautiful melody and has a punning title in Welsh, because the word for ‘wheat’ is ‘gwenith’ and this used to be a fairly common Christian name for a girl. ‘Gwyn’ means ‘white’.
