Apart from the Introduction, this solo needs to be played at a brisk tempo, although there are plenty of places where some rubato can be introduced to good effect.  Written in the keys of C and F major, there is nothing technically difficult in the piece, but a certain amount of dexterity in both hands would be an advantage, so it is not a piece for the beginner.  There are several four-note arpeggiated chords which can be played either with a thumb glide from the fourth to the third string or, as marked on the music, by using the third finger of the right hand.
