Written in F major throughout, this piece has a rousing fourth string solo to give it variety and interest. It was published in the BMG many years ago with only the first two movements of the present version, but is now a better balanced solo which retains all the exuberance of the original. A fair amount of quick shifting is required to play it at the proper speed, but it is an attractive solo when played at any tempo.
