The Clifford Essex Ukulele-Banjo Bridge has been designed specifically for the instrument. A bridge with an ebony top is not suitable for nylon or gut strings. The ebony is only inserted to stop steel strings cutting into the maple. Every time we import ukulele-banjos they always arrive with a ridiculously thick bridge and an ebony top. These bridges produce an inferior tone, when fitted with the correct bridge the tone is significantly improved.
