Most banjoists who have played this March by Bernard Sheaff, agree that it is one of the finest ever written for the instrument. Sheaff was the pupil who Cammeyer chose as his duettist for his recordings and, like his master, Sheaff was a first rate musician and superb banjoist. He was a member of the famous Kentucky Minstrels Banjo Team, and was responsible for writing the parts for the orchestral accompaniments. Although his compositions are comparatively few, they are all tuneful and well worth playing, despite some of them being difficult for the average amateur player. This one will well repay study by any banjoist.
