Swanee Echoes
SWANEE ECHOES
Alfred Kirby wrote many fine banjo solos, and this is one of the best, — possibly the best, and probably the best-known. This is not a piece for the beginner, because the brilliant arrangement of ‘Way Down Upon the Swanee River’ which concludes the piece requires a fair amount of dexterity in both hands. But it contains some good tunes which are well worth playing and, taken at a steady pace, should be within the capacity of the average banjoist.
