Spread Eagle
SPREAD EAGLE
Subtitled ‘March’, the piece looks fairly simple and is one of the seven solos originally published by Clifford Essex in 1900, using Morley’s name and address. Like the other six titles in the series, it has some good tunes although,—beginners beware—it is not as simple as it looks and, as with so many of Morley’s solos, it needs a fairly good technique to do justice to it. There are one or two quick shifts required, so it should be taken very slowly at first.
