Slumber Song

As the title suggests, this is a quiet piece intended to encourage sleep, so the direction con sordino is appropriate.   Similarly, Cantabile, suggests that it is in the nature of a lullaby, despite a couple of places marked forte.   If you have fitted a mute, as directed, it will not be easy to play very loudly, so any ‘soft’ or ‘loud’ will all be relative to the starting volume.  The piece certainly gives an opportunity to practise control of your right hand fingers in producing the dynamics, which range between pianissimo and forte.
