Queen of the Burlesque

QUEEN OF THE BURLESQUE

Arthur Tilley had about forty published titles in the banjo catalogues at one time, but this became  one of the most popular banjo solos of all time, with a catchy first movement and a section containing harmonics.   It is probably the latter which attracts so many players, and certainly the non-playing members of an audience.   Comparatively few banjo solos include more than one or two harmonics, but this piece has a short melody composed of them and, although some beginners have found them tricky to play at speed, the fingering shown here, offers an easy method of obtaining the best results.
