Prelude & Bourree from the suite in C
PRELUDE and BOURREE
These are the first two pieces in a Suite of six titles written in the style of an 18th century French Suite. The Suite is in C major, a natural key which sounds well on the banjo and, in keeping with the principal of a suite, the various pieces share some common thematic material. The Prélude is a short, slow piece, but the Bourrée is somewhat more animated, and embodies the chord structure on which the Suite is based.
They are ideal solos for the experienced player who wants something different from the usual type of published banjo music.
