LANCASHIRE CLOGS
This must have been a very early piece by Emile Grimshaw because I vaguely remember reading that he won an open competition for it, having entered it as a composition for brass band. It certainly makes a fine banjo solo, and is typical of Grimshaw in that it is tuneful and easy to play. He had a gift for producing attractive melodies that fitted very easily under the fingers, and this is one of his best.
