During Joe Morley’s later years he wrote many solos which were never published because the general demand for them had diminished, but he was quite happy to make a copy of his latest piece for friends, who would, of course, give him something in return.  The original manuscript for the present publication was owned by Bernard Sheaff, who knew Morley well, so we can be sure that it is genuine.  ‘Kiddies Scamper’ has four main sections in the keys of G major, E minor, C major and A minor, with the usual repeats, and the piece should be played at a fairly quick tempo, as the title suggests.  It is a bright, catchy solo, which should appeal to all players.
