Kentucky Days
‘KENTUCKY DAYS’
By Joe Morley
The first two sections are in C, and require a certain amount of quick shifting. The third section is in F major, and gives a version of the traditional tune ‘Bury Me Beneath the Willow’, with the melody being played on the fourth string. Morley writes a typical bridge passage in D minor to be played before a repeat of the melody, and then the first two sections are repeated to finish the piece. This is the kind of solo which will repay careful study and, apart from improving your technique, it will give you much enjoyment and satisfaction from playing it.
