GEORGIA WALK ROUND
The ‘Walk Round’ was usually a part of the Minstrel shows, with the whole Company parading around the stage at the beginning and the end of a performance. Morley wrote several compositions with ‘Walk Round’ in the title, and this is a fine example. Written in the keys of C minor and A flat major, it is a tuneful and attractive piece although, as is often the case with Morley, a fairly good technique will be required to do it justice. On the other hand, after practising the piece for a while, a good technique will have been acquired, so you can enjoy a good solo and improve your playing at the same time!
