This piece is a fine example of why one of Joe Morley’s nicknames was ‘King of the dotted quavers, semiquavers and triplets’.  There are four themes in the keys of G major and E minor with one of them appearing several times, but each time in a slightly different form, providing brilliant variations on a simple sequence of descending broken chords.   This must be one of his most attractive solos, and although it requires some fairly quick shifting in places, it has been a firm favourite among amateur banjoists since before the First World War, when it was written.
