CLEMATIS  RAG

This original composition uses the same format as a typical Joplin Rag, with four sections in different keys.   Starting in C it moves to F, then to B flat, and finally G, with repeats of sections in between.   It is easy to imagine this piece being played by a jazz band of the late 1890’s, but it sounds just right on the banjo, — which is not surprising, considering that it was written by a well-known player-composer.   Not difficult to play, it is a solo to be enjoyed by performers and audiences alike.
