Joe Morley often included arrangements of well-known tunes as a part of his original compositions, with ‘John Peel’ in ‘The Jovial Huntsman’ and ‘Bury Me Beneath the Willow’ in ‘Kentucky Days’ as good examples, so it is not surprising to find a neat version of ‘Camptown Races’ in this solo.
The keys of C minor and A flat major sound very well on the banjo and, despite the three and four flats in the signatures, the chords and runs all fit easily under the fingers, so the average player will have no difficulty in achieving a satisfactory performance.
