AN ETHIOPIAN SHUFFLE
The title suggests that this is one of Morley’s early solos from the minstrel era, but in fact it was published as late as 1932, although it may have been written before that, of course. There are five sections, all good tunes, in the keys of C minor, E flat and A flat major, with no technical difficulties. Beware that the ‘repeated’ sections are not always exactly the same—Morley took a delight in slightly altering phrases the second time around.
