The Dancer’s Dream
THE DANCER’S DREAM
Alfred Douglas Cammeyer was first and foremost a musician, and his playing of the zither-banjo demonstrated that the instrument was capable of something more than simple accompaniments to minstrel songs. This must be one of the most popular solos he wrote, and is a fine example of the tuneful compositions for which he became famous. There are a couple of chords which will help to stretch your fingers, but even then it should be within the ability of the average banjoist, and is an ideal solo to play in public as a contrasting centre piece in a group of three, where the first and last could well be chosen from the more lively Morley titles in our catalogue.
