As a change from the Marches, Jigs, and Breakdowns of the minstrel era, Morley was quite happy to provide solos like this attractive waltz. It is not a difficult piece, — particularly if Morley’s alternate first finger and thumb technique is used for the right hand, as suggested. There are sections in the basic keys of C, G, and F major and, if played at a fairly fast tempo, it is sure to become a favourite with players and audiences.
